This is a distance learning course and you DO NOT come to campus at all! The mandatory orientation takes place on-line. You will access eCollege Vista and follow the orientation instructions. This course consists of learning Persuasive Speaking as well as Interpersonal Communication skills. You will present a total of 5 speeches and do Interpersonal activities.  You will need access to a video camera for the speeches.   I can only accept VHS or VHSC videotapes , DVD and DVDC not 8mm.  Speeches are performed in front of an audience of 6 adults over age 17 that you have assembled. Each speech is videotaped, per the guidelines in the syllabus, and mailed or delivered to campus. I do not accept tapes late! You will take all tests and quizzes on-line. You will submit all activity papers on line. This course has no lecture, so you learn from the textbook and some lecture notes. We correspond by e-mail within the WEB CT and you receive messages through the discussion board. You need to have a good grasp of the Internet and computer skills for this class.   The required textbook can be purchase through the Lonestar College-Kingwood Bookstore.  The textbook is: Human Communication, Devito, 11th edition
