Online Class

This is a distance learning course and you DO NOT come to campus at all!  The mandatory orientation takes place on-line.  You will access Web CT and follow the orientation instructions.  You will need access to a video camera for this course.  I can only accept VHS or VHSC videotapes, DVD or DVDC.  I will not accept 8mm tapes.  You will present a total of 5 speeches.  Speeches are performed in front of an audience of 6 adults over age 17 that you have assembled.  Each speech is videotaped, per the guidelines in the syllabus, and mailed or delivered to campus.  I do not accept tapes late!  You will take all tests on-line and participate in discussions.  You will submit all papers on line.  There will be on-line discussions.  This course has no lecture, so you learn from the textbook and CD rom, which comes with the textbook.  We correspond by e-mail within the WEB CT and you receive messages through the discussion board.  You need to have a good grasp of the Internet and computer skills for this class.  The required textbook is Public Speaking for College and Career, Hamilton Gregory, 8th edition.  It can be purchased through the Kingwood College bookstore.   To access your web ct classroom, go to the nhmccd.edu main page and click on e-classroom.  You will be able to access this site on the first day of class

Hybrid Internet
